About Us
Fasting is 50% knowledge, 50% community. We built both.
FastingInPractice is a free knowledge hub and community for people who fast. Half of this site is science-backed guides, articles, and recipes. The other half is real people sharing their experiences — what they eat, what changed for them, the tricks that made fasting click, and the meals that got them through the day.
Author & Founder
Mark James
Mark is the author of Intermittent Fasting in Practice and has spent years teaching thousands of people how to fast — covering protocols, the science behind time-restricted eating, and practical strategies for making fasting a sustainable part of everyday life, in both Farsi and English.
Follow on InstagramWhy knowledge alone is not enough
The science of fasting matters. But what people really want to know is: what does someone like me actually eat during their eating window? What changed for them in the first two weeks? How did they handle hunger? What tricks did they discover that no article ever mentions?
That is what the community is for. On FastingInPractice, real people share their day-to-day fasting experiences — their meals, their wins, their struggles, and the small things that made fasting stick. You can read what others are going through, learn from their journey, and share your own.
The knowledge side draws from Intermittent Fasting in Practice, a comprehensive guide covering protocols, the science of time-restricted eating, women's health, fasting with diabetes, exercise timing, mindset, and more. Together, knowledge and community give you everything you need.
