Why This Works for Intermittent Fasting
This shake has zero sugar, zero starch, and zero fructose — making it one of the cleanest ways to break a fast without spiking insulin. The healthy fats from avocado and coconut cream slow digestion and keep you full deep into your eating window. Collagen peptides support gut lining repair, which accelerates after a long fast. It tastes like a thick chocolate mousse but works as a complete meal.
Ingredients
- ½ ripe avocado
- 1 scoop (30g) unflavoured whey or collagen peptide powder
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (100% cacao, no sugar)
- 200ml full-fat coconut cream (not coconut milk)
- 1 tbsp MCT oil
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- A pinch of sea salt
- 4–6 ice cubes
- Stevia or monk fruit to taste (optional — both are zero glycaemic)
Instructions
- Add the coconut cream to the blender first.
- Add the avocado flesh, cocoa powder, protein or collagen powder, MCT oil, cinnamon, and sea salt.
- Add the ice cubes.
- Blend on high for 60 seconds until completely smooth and thick.
- Taste and add a few drops of stevia or monk fruit if you prefer it sweeter — both are zero sugar and will not break your fast.
- Pour into a glass and drink immediately. The avocado will oxidise if left to sit.

Fasting Compatibility
Best for: 16:8, 18:6, OMAD, keto + fasting, and carnivore-adjacent protocols. Zero sugar and zero starch means no insulin spike — your body stays in the fat-burning state it entered during your fast. The MCT oil provides immediate ketone fuel while the fat and protein content keeps hunger completely suppressed for 4–6 hours.
