Why This Works for Intermittent Fasting

Breaking a fast with a shake heavy in collagen protein and healthy fat keeps blood sugar stable while avoiding the insulin spike of a sugary breakfast. Cinnamon adds warmth and a natural sweetness without any actual sugar, and the fat-to-protein ratio here promotes satiety that carries you comfortably through to your next meal.

Beef Collagen and Cinnamon Morning Shake

Why This Works for Intermittent Fasting

Breaking a fast with a shake heavy in collagen protein and healthy fat keeps blood sugar stable while avoiding the insulin spike of a sugary breakfast. Cinnamon adds warmth and a natural sweetness without any actual sugar, and the fat-to-protein ratio here promotes satiety that carries you comfortably through to your next meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or full-fat coconut milk for extra richness)
  • 2 scoops (about 20g) unflavored beef collagen peptides
  • 1 tablespoon MCT oil or melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon monk fruit or stevia (optional, to taste)
  • 4–5 ice cubes
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Add the almond milk, collagen peptides, MCT oil, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and sea salt to a blender.
  2. Add the optional monk fruit or stevia if you'd like a touch of sweetness.
  3. Blend on high for 30–45 seconds until smooth and fully combined — collagen peptides dissolve easily and won't clump if blended well.
  4. Add the ice cubes and blend again for 15–20 seconds until thick and frothy.
  5. Pour into a glass and dust the top with a little extra cinnamon before serving.

Fasting Compatibility

This shake fits well as a first meal breaking a 16:8, 18:6, or OMAD fast — it's low-carb enough to avoid a blood sugar spike while delivering enough protein and fat to support satiety through a longer eating window gap.
