Coconut Lime Collagen Shake

Why This Works for Intermittent Fasting

This shake pairs collagen peptides with full-fat coconut milk to deliver a satiety-first combination of protein and fat with virtually no carbohydrate load, so it won't trigger a sharp insulin spike when breaking a fast. The bright lime cuts through the richness of the coconut fat, making a genuinely refreshing option for anyone who finds heavier shakes hard to finish. Because it's built almost entirely from fat and protein, it fits neatly at the end of an eating window or as a light first meal after an extended fast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk (canned, well-shaken)
  • 1 scoop (about 20g) unflavored collagen peptides
  • Juice and zest of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons coconut cream
  • 1 tablespoon MCT oil or coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • Optional: a few drops of liquid stevia or monk fruit, to taste

Instructions

  1. Add the coconut milk, coconut cream, collagen peptides, lime juice and zest, MCT oil, vanilla extract, and sea salt to a blender.
  2. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and fully combined.
  3. Add the ice cubes and blend again until thick and frothy.
  4. Taste and adjust with a few drops of stevia or monk fruit if a touch more sweetness is wanted.
  5. Pour into a glass and serve immediately, garnished with extra lime zest if desired.

Fasting Compatibility

The high fat and protein content with minimal carbs makes this shake well suited to breaking a 16:8 or 18:6 fasting window, and it also works as a satisfying OMAD-adjacent addition on days when a lighter second meal is preferred.
