Why This Works for Intermittent Fasting

Full-fat coconut cream brings a naturally sweet, satisfying richness without any actual sugar, while a clean vanilla whey or collagen protein keeps the shake anchored in protein rather than carbohydrate. The high fat-to-protein ratio here slows digestion and extends satiety, making it a solid way to break a longer fasting window without triggering a sharp insulin spike.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup full-fat coconut cream (chilled, solid part from a can of coconut milk)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop (about 25g) vanilla whey or collagen protein powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon monk fruit or stevia (optional, to taste)
  • 4–5 ice cubes
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Add the coconut cream, almond milk, protein powder, vanilla extract, and sea salt to a blender.
  2. Add the optional monk fruit or stevia if you'd like extra sweetness.
  3. Blend on high for 30–45 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the ice cubes and blend again for 15–20 seconds until thick and frothy.
  5. Pour into a chilled glass and serve immediately.

Fasting Compatibility

This shake works well as a first meal breaking a 16:8, 18:6, or OMAD fast — the fat and protein combination supports steady energy without a blood sugar spike, and it's rich enough to feel like a genuine treat rather than a compromise.
