Carnivore Beef and Egg Scramble
Why This Works for Intermittent Fasting
This scramble is built around two of the most fasting-compatible foods you can eat: ground beef and eggs. Both are loaded with protein and fat β the combination that keeps insulin low, satiety high, and your body in fat-burning mode for hours after eating. There are zero carbohydrates, zero sugar, and nothing that will trigger a blood sugar spike. Break your fast with this and you will likely have no desire to eat again until your next planned meal.
Ingredients
- 250g (9 oz) ground beef (80/20 or fattier)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp butter or ghee
- Β½ tsp sea salt
- Β½ tsp black pepper
- Β½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh herbs for garnish: parsley or chives (optional)
Instructions
-
Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over medium-high heat. Add the butter or ghee.
-
Once the fat is hot, add the ground beef. Break it apart with a wooden spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
-
Cook the beef for 4β5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned through with no pink remaining. Do not drain the fat β it stays in the pan.
-
Reduce heat to medium-low. Push the beef to one side of the pan or spread it out evenly.
-
Crack the eggs directly into the pan over the beef. Let them set for 30 seconds.
-
Gently fold and scramble the eggs through the beef. Stir slowly to keep the eggs soft and custardy β do not overcook.
-
Remove from heat while the eggs are still slightly underdone. Residual heat will finish them.
-
Garnish with fresh herbs if using. Serve immediately.

Fasting Compatibility
Ideal for breaking a 16:8, 18:6, or OMAD fast. The high protein-to-fat ratio makes it excellent for OMAD practitioners who need to meet daily protein targets in one sitting. Works with 16:8 as a noon or early afternoon first meal that carries comfortably to an evening eating window close.
